Stéphane de Gérando (June 23, 1965) is a French contemporary artist and researcher. He earned the highest degrees in France, both in composition at the Conservatoire de Paris (postgraduate) and as a university researcher (habilitation to supervise research), studies supplemented by the computer music program at IRCAM. He is particularly interested in the role of algorithms in the development of the imagination, with a comprehensive understanding of the work of art in the 21st century. A former director of higher education programs linked to the French Ministry of Culture, Stéphane de Gérando is currently head of the electroacoustic composition department at the CRR d'Amiens in France. He is also the artistic director of an international creative week.
