Exploration of The Acousmatic Project: Innovations in Interpretation and Technology

Sammary

This presentation explores the groundbreaking work of *The Acousmatic Project*, founded by Thomas Gorbach, highlighting his key contributions to acousmatic music. It focuses on the *Vienna Acousmonium*, Austria's first loudspeaker orchestra, which revolutionizes sound spatialization in acousmatic performances. Gorbach's "ephemer dynamic-motion sound sculptures" technique transforms fixed media into spatial experiences, supported by his specialized notation system. The talk concludes with the *Virtual Vienna Acousmonium*, a project merging real and virtual audio diffusion, setting new standards for immersive soundscapes.

Seminar

On Presenturalism and the Prohibited Tapes Project

Summary

Prohibited Tapes” is a project that uses the protocol of pre-recorded electronic music with real-time musical performances. The repertoire includes a wide spectrum of styles, as the result of extensive research on the boundaries of musical genres. In the performance, the cultured tradition dialogues with current rhythms, sounds and technologies, which characterize the digital age in which we live. Prohibited Tapes re-examines and transcends the relationship between human virtuosity and digital technology, creating a new form of musical expression born of the third millennium.
